Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Many of users are sharing distributed Multiuser Virtual Environment(MVE) over low-bandwidth lines on the Internet. If there are not any efficient ways to manage the data traffic generated in a Virtual Environment(VE), the users with low bandwidth lines will be rejected from the distributed MVE. Distance-based filtering, Down sampling and Spatial partitions filtering approaches have been used to try to treat this kind of problem. In this paper, we present a Variation Acuity-based Filtering approach. It describe show to reduce state-update messages by down grading real time variations of the VE to the user's acuity level. The experimental results demonstrate that the Variation Acuity-based Filtering approach succeeded in filtering state-update messages generated in a VE, and maintained good performances among the participants sharing the MVE over low bandwidth lines on the Internet.
