Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Researches of extracting semantics using collocational information calculated from corpora have been done. Collocational information is quantified with mutual information or correlation coefficients of two words. In this paper, nearness between words is defined with collocational information, and an algorithm arranging words based on the information in the Euclidean space is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by comparing with the conventional methods. Because words are arranged in the Euclidean space, the possibility of adopting pattern recognition techniques is enlarged. Moreover, it is expected to analyze relationship of words by considering collocational information of words arranged in visible two-dimensional Euclidean space.
