Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a personal recognition using partial face iamges. The recognition technique is based on using Radial Basis Function (RBF) networks. Input data for RBF networks consist of the human partial face images (ear, nose and lip images), the experiment for recognition was held using only ear images, and another case, using combination of ear, nose and lip images. At present circumstances, we have database of partial face images for 120 persons. This investigation was gradually held as 20, 50 and 100 registered persons. As a result of the experiment for a personal recognition, we have achieved both a recognition accuracy rate of 100% for the recognition of registered persons and a rejection rate of 100% for the rejection of unregistered persons. It was possible to go down a value of output vectors for unregistered data by using the combination of partial images.
