Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In optimizing a recogunition system that consists of feature extraction and classification systems, a main problem is to decide whether the two systems can be optimized individually or sumultaneously. This depends strongly on an interaction between parameters of the feature extraction system and those of the classification system. In this paper, for the Gabor-based feature extractor and RDA classifier, we discuss an optimization method by exsperimental design.
