A System for Verifying Assemblability of Machine Parts and Visualizing Machinary of Assembly Using Virtual Reality Environment

Abstract(in English) Recently computer aided design systems are used to design machine parts and they are manu-factured using automatic cutting process. There is, however, no system which examines if a perfect assembly is obtainable from a collection of them and also if it successfully functions. Usually trial parts are prodeced and them assembled to confirm the machinery of the assembly. The basic idea of our system is to replace the present state of affairs with a rapid prototyping method using virtual reality environment. Technologies applied for realizing the system are collision detection among parts, generation of mating relation between parts, transmission of kinematic movement of machine parts based on the mating relations and presentation method for visualizing each procces.
