Abstract(in English) A natural method is proposed to help a user manipulate an object in a virtual environment using visual- and haptic-feedback-based methods. It uses visual constraints among object faces that are dynamically selected while the user manipulates the object. At the same time, the user's hard motion are restricted with a force feedback device which generate a reaction between two faces touching each other. 6 DOF for precise object manipulation with 3 DOF force display is possible by using a visual-feedback-based manipulation aid. In addition, by using a haptic-feedback-based manipulation aid, the user does not get a sense of incompatibility caused by differences between his hand motion and visually constrained object motion. The properties of manipulation aid based on these two feedbacks are discussed. Experimental results show the effectiveness of our proposed method of manipulation aid using visual- and haptic-feedbacks.
