Virtual Physics : The Object Manipulation Calculation in Virtual Environments

Abstract(in English) The aim of this study is to discuss the method how we should construct the realistic object manipulation in the virtual environment especially without force feedback. First, the object manipulation calculation is generalized. Next, a calculation method, the Impetus Method, is proposed. This method is basing on the collision between the solid object and the solid fingertip. The method starts with the basic equation, and developed systematically introducing the pseudo physical attributes. The experimental result shows the advantage in performance compared with the traditional method basing on gesture.
