Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper describes the "immersive television" which has surrounding multi-projection displays. Since conventional displays can only provide a visual field of limited angle, people cannot obtain a satisfactory feeling of presence in this type of visual image space. However, since "immersive television" has four screens around the user, people can easily experience sensations which allow them to feel as if they are actually in the virtual space. From the view-point of providing a higher degree of presence for the user, several experiments were conducted. The experimental results and features of the system prototype are discussed. |
