Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Although real time telecommunication means such as telephone are very useful, they lack providing us beforehand situation information about the person whom we are going to talk. In order to improve human communications, this report proposes a communication model that has "Situation Description Layer" and "Message Exchange Layer" beyond coventional telecommunication services that have supported only station-to-station line holding functions. Both VILLA system featuring Virtual Shadows and TELEWALL system that relates separate places by providing monitoring video images are reported. With operation experiences of these systems, privacy-issues are discussed and it is guessed the cross-talks between two layers are its major cause. A possibility of reducing privacy-issues caused by the Situation Description Layer is mentioned by means of designing it as a virtual space.
