An Error Resilient Visual Communication Method using Backward Channel Signaling

Abstract(in English) For the erroneous communication circumstances such as mobile networks, NEWPRED which enables to prevent the temporal error propagation maintaining the inter-frame coding is known as one of the effectiv error resilient video communication methods. In this document, we evaluate the performance of the NEWPRED systems comparing with the Intra-refresh system. Since the NEWPRED systems need plural reference fram memories both at the encoder and at the decoder, we investigate the reduction of the performance of the systems under the limited reference memories. Finally we propose the reference memory management algorithm which utilizes the reference memories and the new NEWPRED system which employs the algorithm and evaluate its effectiveness over other NEWPRED systems.
