Introduction for Large-Scaled Image System

Abstract(in English) In this paper, large-scaled image system, especially CAVE (CAVE Automatic Virtual Environment) is simply described. At first, large-scaled image projection systems which were introduced in museums, exhibitions, amusement parks, thema parks and so on are simply described. Especially, one of these facilities in Europe which were rarely reported in Japan are introduced. CAVEs, which were introduced or were going to be introduced in about 30 research facilities or multi media museums in the world, are also reported how to be used in their facilities. CAVE was proposed by EVL (Electronic Visualization Lab.), University of Illinois at Chicago in 1992. It is 10feet×10feet×9feet room sized space with 3 or 4 screens. It is one of the large-scaled stereo image projection system which can make an illusioin of immersion.
