Abstract(in English) In many structural analysis approaches to pattern recognition problems, optimization techniques play essentially important rolls. Dynamic programming (DP) is one of the most typical optimization techniques applied to various pattern recognition problems. Presenting several application cases to which the author himself has deeply concerned, comments are given why DP was used, how DP was used, and what was the result. The application covers spoken word recognition, offline and online character recognition and image analysis.
