Abstract(in English) In recent years, the Internet has shown rapid and remarkable growth triggered by World Wide Web, and the introduction of computer networks in a company (intra-net) is also increasing. Accompanied by this movement, There is increasing demand for a new computer communication network having high speed and high functionality like security at low cost. We point out the problems of current computer networks, and propose a new high speed computer communication network, utilizing virtual path function provided in ATM networks, as the solution. We explain a new forwarding equipment, called "Cut-through ATM-based Forwarding Engine (CAFE)", to realize the proposing network.
