Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We measured the location of visual egocenter by using Howard and Templeton's method, the modified Howard and Templeton's method with visual and kinesthetic tasks. Then, observer's objective and subjective median plane judgments were examined visually and kinesthetically. The main results showed that the location of the egocenter differs depending on the visual and kinesthetic tasks. In addition, the perceived objective and subjective median planes also differ depending on the sensory modalities. These results suggested that the location of visual egocenter differs from that of the kinesthetic egocenter and the different locations of egocenter affect the judgments of perceived direction depending on the sensory modalities that were used in the direction task.
