Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We developed method to generate a route guidance description that is written in common words for pedestrian. In this method, nodes along the route are classified into patterns such as crossroad, merging, entering, and so on.We introduced a measurement that enables the system to select appropriate landmarks and route description based on the pattern.Experimental result showed that reasonable and understandable guidance is generated for 120 routes in downtown Tokyo with this method. And the field test showed that over 70% routes generated by this method improved the arrival rate, total average rate marked 7% better than the conventional methods.
