Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Previous visual search studies had been generally carried out by using uniform and relatively simple stimuli. In our daily lives, however, we often search a target among heterogeneous and heterochromatic stimuli. In this study, we investigated characteristics of color visual search in which distractors consisted of several colors within a certain color difference. Distractors were selected from a certain range of color difference in the OSA uniform color space. The response time, to find a target which was out of the range, was measured. Different reaction times were obtained depending on the relative relations between the target and distractors, suggesting that hue and saturation had some different effects on visual search.
