Three-Dimensional Motion Estimation from Dotted Images

Abstract(in English) This paper describes a system to estimate the three-dimensional motion of the object from the sequence of projections. The system holds the process to construct a global motion from two kinds of feature spaces each of which accumulates local motions. One of these feature spaces determines the mean of local motion vectors, and the other represents the topological relation among local motion vectors. The system was tested using the projections of a moving object of 15 dots. Results showed that the distinctive features representing translation or rotation were constructed by combining these feature spaces. More, with sufficient local motions, the system was able to estimate some motion patterns from only two projections.
