Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A weighting model assuming that the weight on a time estimation as a function of "representation of physical forces" causes the S-effect or Kappa effect is proposed and tested. In the experiment, three circles were presented sequentially upon the slope on a computer display. In a series of stimuli, first and second circles were displayed on the fixed positions to show a descending event, but third was displayed on the different position to manipulate durations between second and third(1550 or 1850ms), spatial distances(short or long)and directions(ascending or descending). Subjects were asked to judge the duration between second and third with pre-trained discrimination scale of the durations of short, medium, and long. The results support the weighting model.
