Abstract(in English) The present study examined the eye gaze effect on the recognition of facial expressions. The stimuli were 4 morphed facial expressions(neutral / happiness / sadness / anger)with horizontal deviation of eye gaze of 0, 15, 30 and 45° in the intensity-ratings experiment. Subjects rated the intensity of emotions containing "happiness", "sadness", "surprise", "anger", "disgust", "fear", "contempt" for each expressions. The results with 25 subjects showed that the eye gaze affects the recognition of facial expressions. For the neutral expression, subjects rated higher intensity of the "contempt" or "disgust" by the change of eye gaze from 0° to 45°. For happiness and sadness expressions, subjects rated lower intensity of the emotion corresponding to the expression. But anger expression were not affected by eye gaze.
