Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) By using questionnaire survey, we examined the uses of mobile phones and e-mail by female university students and housewives, and their impacts on their human relationship. The results indicated that (1) university students used mobile phones and e-mail more than housewives, and (2) students used both mobile phones and e-mail to comJnunicate with their friends, but housewives used phones to communicate with their families and e-mail with their friends. As for the impacts on their human relationship, (3) mobile phones changed the students' relationship with their close friends and they changed housewive's relationship with their families. And, (4) the use of e-mail had impacts on students in their relationship with friends who lived far away, whereas it had impacts on housewives in their relationship with friends in general.
