Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We had the control board with switches and lamps at the beginning of human-machine interface. We next invented the keyboard and the printer to communicate with machine using command words. And now we have GUI as the latest version of human-machine interface which extended the fields of computer application for a lot of novice users. Some sort of literacy is, however, required to use GUI. In this paper some considerations on the recent advancement of computer technology and the future of human-machine interface are described.
