Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Humans can perceive their heading from an optic flow with translational components as well as a rotational plus translational flow. In the present study, we presented a new model of human heading perception. The model estimates the heading direction accurately in real-life situations. When human obsevers move to a fronto-parallel plane, they cannot judge the heading direction only from visual information. Our model show similar tendencies as human observers do. The proposed model can explain human data about heading judgement from optic flow with binocular diparities or extraretinal information.
