Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Certain complex scenarios have been shown to be more easily learned in the absence of conscious, problem solving strategies. However, the necessary parameters for such learning are ill-specified at present. Using a reaction time task with non-obvious contingencies between elements, several experiments demonstrate that learning such contingencies in the absence of awareness requires overt action. This finding is discussed in relation to a current theory of perception and action. The relevance of this finding to human learning of complex scenarios is also outlined.
