Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Faculty of generalization from a known view to an unknown view of a object is necessary for systems of object recognition which depend on multiple-view representations. In this study, we first show that generalization range is broadened as subjects' familiarity with objects increases. Second, we show that the improvement depends not only on the familiarity with each object but also on its category. These results cannot be explained by the models such as GRBF or HBF network in which each view of each object is acquired independently.
