| 抄録(和) | 顔画像を用いてコンピュータによる個人識別を行なう上で, 有効な顔画像パターンの数学的表現法について検討した. ここでは, 顔パターンの集合に対する主成分分析によって得られる固有顔を利用した手法に的を絞り, その幾つかの適用形態について, マッチングによる識別の性能比較と, 人間による顔認識の基本的な傾向との整合性に関して検討した. その結果, 顔パターン上に抽出される幾つかの特徴点を指標とすることにより, 顔パターンの形状に関する情報と形の規格化された顔に対応した形状フリーのテクスチャ情報とを分離して抽出しそれぞれに主成分分析を適用することによって得られる特徴は, 識別性能の向上をもたらすばかりでなく, caricatureやcompositeという顔パターンの作為的な変形に対する人間の顔認識に関する心理実験の結果に比較的近い傾向を示すことが明らかになった. |
| 抄録(英) | A testbed for automatic face recognition is described and shows an eigenface coding of shape-free texture, with manually coded landmarks, was more effective than correctly shaped faces. Configuration also allowed recognition, with rankings uncorrelated with texture; these combine to signifcantly improve performance. Human results on increasing performance by caricaturing to emphasize distinctive features and decreasing performance by compositing facial parts were reproduced. This suggests faces lie in a high-dimensional manifold, linearly approximated by the two factors, and this representation may be used for human face recognition. |
