| 抄録(和) | 顔の脳内表現の特性を明らかにするために、単純な顔図形とコンピュータグラフィックスを用いて合成した顔についての多次元尺度構成法による類似性空間と、これらの顔の属性値及びガウスフィルターを通した画像の主成分分析、恒等写像を学習するニューラルネットワークの内部表現を比較検討した。その結果、顔は全体的な特徴を次元とする多次元空間に符号化されていること、その空間配置は主成分分析によって得られている可能性があること、さらにそうした処理は単純なネットワークで実現可能であることが示唆された。 |
| 抄録(英) | Mental representations of faces are investigated by using schematic faces and faces synthesized by computer graphics. Similarity spaces of those faces yielded by multidimensional scaling are compared with the principal component spaces on attribute values or Gauss-filtered images of these faces. A comparison to similarity spaces of internal representations of artificial neural networks that learned identity transformations of those faces is also made. It is suggested that faces are encoded in a multidimensional space, whose dimensions represent configural features, and that spatial representations are formed by a process that resembles principal component analysis, furthermore, it was shown that the process can be simulated by simple networks. |
