Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In early vision, there are many vision modules that estimate 3-D structure from two dimensional images and integrate the output into a single surface representation. Recovering 3-D shape from texture is estimated in one of these modules. In estimating shape from texture, we can use two different cues : density cue and compression cue. In this experiment, we examine how these two cues are integrated by using a textural cylinder that has conflicting two cues or variance in one of the cues. The results are well described by a model based on Bayesian estimation.
