Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Rapid Page Flipping, a feature to effortlessly search a particular document by displaying the layout of the electronically stored document as if flipping through the pages of a book, has been implemented on high performance systems which use high speed strage devices such as harddisk devices. In this paper, we identify the problems inherent in document searches on slow systems using media such as floppy disks, and analyzes the features essential for implementing a Page flipping documnet search system. Furthermore, we state that Page flipping is suitable document search feature for personal information equipments based upon experimental evaluation.
