Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In object and shape recognition, both form and pose information in space are required. This pose information may be considered to be the transformation from a viewer-centered representation to the representation that refers to a memory representation. Several points were clarified in psychophysical experiments. First, transformation information is represented in a multidimensional space with dimensions corresponding to elementary transformations, such as rotation and shear. Next, the prototype of a learned shape is generated during a learning stage and it was shown that transformation information in the learning stage affected the memory strength and the response bias in recognition. The model that posits the independent processing of transformation-invariant information (object property) and transformation-dependent information (spatial property) was proposed from these results.
