A Robust Personal Identification System for Appearance Changes with Expressions

Abstract(in English) We have proposed personal identification system based on the modified HSV color system and isodensity maps, and the effectiveness of this method has been confirmed. On the other hand, the improvement of processing stability in environmental changes is a very serious problem for practical use of this system. In the conventional system, deterioration of identification accuracy has been confirmed in the case of an extreme change of facial expression between input and registered image. Also, the conventional system made it a condition that there is only one person in the input image. In this paper, a personal identification system, which is able to apply the facial images with a change of expression using differential image, is proposed. And, human-face extraction method, which is able to apply face images by using recursive processing, is also described. From the experimental results, the effectiveness of proposed methods have confirmed.
