Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Subjects are asked to memorize patterns of randomly distributed circles on Paper. Those patterns are generated from prototype patterns by moving certain numbers of circles at random. In an experiment, subjects are asked to tell their subjective similarity between the patterns and their prototypes, and in another experiment, strengths of belief of recognition. The experiments revealed a linear relationship between strength of belief of recognition and subjective similarity, furthermore that strength of belief is not as large as subjective similarity.
