Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The visual sensitivity function for binocular disparity modulation, like the contrast sensitivity function, has bandpass characteristics. However, very little i5 knowr} ab0ut its underlying mechanism. We show that surface reconstruction through regularlzation followed by detection of disparity gradient can account for charOcteristics of the disparity modulation sensitivity function. A neural mechanrsm for surface reconstruction based on regularization is discussed.
