Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Although it is very difficult to measure vigilance levels quantitatively, it is necessary to develop a method for measuring the levels in the fields of biological rhythm and psychiatry. Our goal is to develop an effective, accurate and easy-to-use method for measuring vigilance levels. It is considered that eye movements are affected by vigilance levels, and so we carried out some experiments in order to clarify the relationship between the velocities of saccades in eye movements and the rated vigilance levels. The experimental results suggest that there is a high correlation between the rated vigilance levels and the measured saccades.
