Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a novel lateral inhibition model for visual perception which differs from the existing models in that the interaction between firing neurons causes the displacement of their positions. By this model, one can realize geometric illusions in a unifying way. Furthermore, the curvature and Riemannian metric tensor of visual space can be calculated in a straightforwards way from the displacements of neurons. Finally, we show that the negative illusions can be realizes as geodesics in the visual space of geometric illusions.
