Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Theories that rely on view-based representations argue that viewpoint independent recognition can be achieved by obtaining a certain number of views of an object. Theoretically, they do not involve the use of 3-dimensional information. In this research, we adopted pairs of objects as stimuli, which could be easily distinguished with 3-dimensional information, but not without it. Based on the results of the recognition task, we propose the existence of two processes working in parallel; one of which is a 2-dimensional module like a GRBF network, and the other is a 3-dimensional module. Furthermore, we show that the learning effect is mainly seen in the 3-dimensional module. |
