Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We evaluated influence of the pupil size on the estimation of emotion from the face. Using face images of typical expression of happiness, anger and fear with modulated pupils of three size, level of the emotion judged from each image was ranked by subjects. The experimental results demonstrated that the level of happiness and fear estimated from the expression of the face goes up with large pupil, whereas the level of anger goes up with small pupil. These results indicate that the pupil size has influence on the estimation of emotion from expression in the face.
