Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed an IAA system that allows confirmation of registered victim information via the Internet. Because seniors and disabled victims may be unable to use a keyboard or mouse, we proposed a method that incorporates a FAX registration interface. FAX contents are read via OCR, and returned to the user for confirmation. The user then corrects recognition errors and resends the information. We created a prototype system and conducted initial evaluation tests. Results showed that elderly subjects were able to complete the registration operation successfully using an average of 2.5 FAX transmissions.
