| 抄録(和) | 他者の視線方向は, 自動的な注意定位をもたらす.しかし, この処理に扁桃体が関与しているかどうかは明らかではない.この問題を検討するため, 我々は, 6人の一側側頭葉切除患者と8人の健常者を対象として, 視線手がかりパラダイムでの実験を行った.視線手がかりが側頭葉切除患者の健常半球または健常者のいずれかの半球に提示された際には, 有効な視線手がかりは, 非有効な手がかりに比べてターゲット検出の反応時間を短縮した.しかし, 手がかりが側頭葉切除患者の切除半球に呈示された際には, この手がかりの効果は消失した.これらの結果から, 他者の視線方向への視線定位において扁桃体が重要な役割を果たすことが示唆される. |
| 抄録(英) | The other's gaze direction triggers the reflexive shift of an observer's visual attention, however, it is unknown whether the amygdala is involved in such process. To address this problem, we carried out the experiment of gaze cueing paradigm with six unilateral temporal lobectomy and eight normal control subjects. Gaze cues were presented to their unilateral visual fields. When the gaze cues were presented to the intact hemispheres of temporal lobectomy subjects or to the normal controls' hemispheres, the valid cues shortened the subjects' reaction times of target detection relative to the invalid cues. However, when the lesion hemispheres of temporal lobectomy subjects were stimulated, this cueing effect vanished. These findings suggest that the human amygdala plays a crucial role in the attentional orientation to the other's gaze direction. |
