Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We investigated the ERPs to face stimulus in an adaptation paradaigm. ERPs elicited by the same expression faces were compared among when they were preceded by faces with different expression, identity, or both. Smile faces elicited larger N170 when preceded by neutral faces than by different identity/same expression faces, while neutral faces preceded by smile faces did not show such effects. For angry faces, there were no effects of difference in the preceding stimuli. These findings suggest that N170 is sensitive to change into smile expression from neutral expression, independently of physical change in facial stimuli. |
