Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Examining the characteristics of task irrelevant facial expression processing, 3 tasks were set on several stages of person identification pathway of Bruce & Young's(1986)face recognition model. Event-related brain potentials(ERPs)were recorded from 12 participants, who were participated in familiarity judgement, sex judgement, and object-face judgement task. No difference among expressions were found on ERPs from familiarity and sex judgement tasks. But in object-face judgement task, some components showed significant differences along to pleasure-unpleasure dimension. The results showed that expression were aoutomatically or pre-attentively processed in pleasure-unpleasure dimension, even when the attention was not paid for the facial expression. Emotion could be reflected in early perceptual stage instead of cognitive stage.
