Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper addresses the computerized teaching/learning materials for hearing Japanese sign language (JSL) learners. We have developed a small-size computerized material that focuses mainly on an appropriate use of a Japanese word(translation)for a sign word depending on context used in signed language sentences. The appropriate use of Japanese word(translation)is one of important issues in interpreting JSL into Japanese. We have made an evaluation experiment with deaf and hearing people, and have collected their opinions of the computerized material. We also point out certain issues to be considered and solved for improving the material.
