Abstract(in English) We have developed an on-line Japanese character input system for the blind. This system is composed of a hand controller and a personal computer with a voice synthesizer. We have improved on-line Japanese character recognition algorithm for the blind. Then, this system is applied to the electronic mail system. This paper describes the system evaluation for the blind and a solution of several problems for the Japanese document editing function by utilizing this system.
