Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We investigated the role of motion for perceiving facial expressions with the pint-light stimuli. We presented sequentially the first stimulus expressing one emotion (E1) and the second stimulus expressing the mix of E1 and other emotion (E2). There were the no ISI condition and the long ISI condition. The apparent motion was perceived in the former condition, but not in the latter. The results were that the perceived expression biased towards E2 only in no ISI condition and the bias disappeared when E2 was disrupted, but not when E1 was disrupted. These suggest that there is the mechanism to perceive facial expressions from motion independent of static pattern. |
