Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We investigated visual evoked potentials (VEPs) elicited by schematic faces. In Experiment 1, the recorded VEPs indicated that the amplitudes of P170 components were intensified positively correspond to the increasing of the faceness on the different stimulus condition. Experiment 2 was carried out adding the geometrical figure condition as the non-facial stimulus condition. As a result, it was found that the amplitudes of P170 were not enhanced by the geometrical figures compared with the facial stimulus condition, so that the P170 components seemed to reflect some early stage in facial information processing.
