Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An"easy-to-use"block-type two-dimensional bar code, based upon error-correcting codes and code concatenation, has been developed. The configuration of the bar code could be changed by using sub-sets of the unit block.Furthermore, it was possible to decode under various conditions including change of slope, rotation, distortion, fragmentation, and also when a part of the bar code was missing. In this paper, the recognition characteristics for several slopes and rotations was experimentally evaluated. Also, we were able to show that"the redundant encoding process"had high recognition properties for the bar code, when using printed fragments of a paper sheet, the complex surfaces of an object, and even when scanning the image on a T-shirt.
