Abstract(in English) In the image telecommunication, controlling remote camera view has been expected to facilitate user's recognition of the remote site. However, up to now, camera control is not used so effectively. In order to clarify the problem of the current camera control system, the effect of the time delay on the image telecommunication is evaluated experimentally in this paper. Furthermore, the effect of overview image in image communication is also evaluated. Primarily the degree of delay time and the speed of the camera movement determine the capability of the human operator to control. The reduction of the surface speed of image on the screen and the overview picture in the room are effective on using the remote camera.
