Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the field of the psychology, the observation of eyeblinks plays important role. The VTR method has been developed in order to detect the eyeblinks from the facial image sequences automatically. Since this method is based on the difference in color between the eyelids and the eyeballs, the method requires the preparatory experiments for the subjects to obtain the color information. We propose a new method by using the correlation factor between the facial images which is acquired by the VTR camera. As our method can detect the eyeblinks without the information about the subjects, the method can reduce the processing time in comparison with the VTR method.
