Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Quadriplegics cannot operate the mouse because of paralyzed hand's motor and sensory function. When they use the mouse emulators by keyboard operation or switch operation, they have to move line of sight from the display to the keyboard quite frequently. We developed a pointing device that is not influenced by position of the upper limb and can operate with limited motor function. This pointing device, "Magic Wand" can reduce excessive line of sight movement when quadriplegics are accessing the computers.
