Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There are two approaches to generating sign language sentences: an editing approach and a rule-based one. One of the most important factors to be considered in these approaches is the control of transitional movements between two signs that is very parallel to the speech synthesis. In this report we discuss the characterization of the transitional movements for Japanese sign language. One of the important findings is that three consecutive signs should be considered in controlling the transitional movements.
