Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Motion-imaging-related potentials (MIRPs),were investigated as an indicator of a user intention for a new communication channel of human-computer interaction. In Experiment 1, the authors measured 32-channel motion-related potentials (MRPs) and MIRPs. The subject was instructed to grasp his right/left hand during MRP measurement and to imagine grasping his right/left hand during MRP and MIRP measurements. Although there were no differences between left- and right-imaging MIRPs till 300 msec, it was found that the right-hand-imaging MIRPs had the contralaterality at 390 msec in the parietal and occipital regions, while the left-hand imaging MRIPs had one at 420 msec. In Experiment 2, the authors measured 20-channel MIRPs by using Odd Ball paradigm. It was found that P3b components of the MIRPs had the contralaterality in the parietal and temporal regions, while there were no contralateralities in P300 components with target-counting instruction.
